Severe Thunderstorms Possible In Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service has issued Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the area.

Enjoy the weather for Wednesday. All told it is going to be a sunny day in the Hudson Valley with highs in the upper 70s. However, the National Weather Service has issued Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the region for Thursday.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, a weak frontal system will pass through Thursday afternoon and evening. A few strong to locally severe thunderstorms may be possible during this time frame.

As the low-pressure system passes to the south from late-day Friday into Saturday morning, the heaviest associated rainfall appears more likely to also pass just south.

However, even a slight northward shift in the low track could bring heavy rainfall capable of producing flooding to parts of the area, the NWS said.

For Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties, there is a chance of thunderstorms from Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening.
