Small Fire Forces Irvington HS Evacuation
The Irvington Fire Department immediately responded to the campus to evaluate the situation.

IRVINGTON, NY — A small fire led to the evacuation of Irvington High School Monday morning. Around 8:05 a.m., according to a notice posted on the district's website, an electrical cord shorted out.
That led to a small fire and smoke condition in the area of the high school's office. The fire was immediately extinguished by school staff.
Officials said students and staff promptly evacuated the school after hearing the fire alarm.

The Irvington Fire Department immediately responded to the campus to evaluate the situation.
Around 8:45 a.m., the fire department determined that no hazards were present and that the building was safe to re-enter.

At that time, both the middle school and high school resumed a normal schedule.
