Social Media Threat Forces Delay, Lockdown In Hastings Schools
School administration said police found there is no credible threat against the schools.

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — Students at Hastings High School and Farragut Middle School in Hastings-on-Hudson were under lockdown Wednesday morning due to a possible threat.
Superintendent William S. McKersie said the lockdown of the Farragut Complex was lifted 9 a.m. The two-hour delay that was instituted for the middle and high schools ended at 10:15 a.m.
According to a statement posted on the district's website, he said that, prior to the start of the school day, the district was "notified of an alleged threat to the Farragut Complex (middle school and high school) that was posted on social media."

McKersie said the police were called immediately and the building was secured.
He said the police identified the sources of the threat and is investigating, adding there is no credible threat to the schools.

McKersie added that there was never a threat to Hillside Elementary School.
