Spoken Interludes' Last 2015 Book Reading Program to be Held at Dobbs Ferry's Mercy College

The Dec. 4 program begins with a buffet dinner from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by brief readings and book signings.

Spoken Interludes will conclude its fall, 2015 series at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry with readings by three authors on Friday, December 4.

A buffet dinner will begin the evening’s activities to also include answering of questions from the audience and book signings. Typically this programs attract turnouts from 175 to more than 200 attendees.

Delia Ephron will read from her latest book, called “Do I Have to Say Hello? Aunt Delia’s Manners Quiz for Kids and Their Grownups.” Released on November 3, 2015, the book updates an original version published 25 years ago and concerns the exercising of good manners by children at home and away. Ephron is an author, playwright, screenplay writer and producer, and she worked with her sister, the late Nora Ephron, on many projects.

Humorist Sloane Crosley will read from her debut novel, “The Clasp,” published in October, 2015 by Farrar, Straus & Giroux. The plot unfurls with the reuniting of college friends in their late 20s and the rekindling of their relationships while attending the wedding of one of their former group. Crowley was named in “The Library of America’s 50 Funniest American Writers According to Andy Borowitz.”

Jamie Brickhouse will read passages from his comic memoir called “Dangerous When Wet: A Memoir of Booze Sex and My Mother,” published in 2015. He is the founder and CEO of RedBrick Agency, a lecture bureau for authors, and has been a stand-up comedy performer and has recorded voice-overs for the television show Beavis and Butthead.
