Tax Increase Proposed in Irvington
A public hearing is scheduled for April 6 on the village's tentative 2015-16 budget.
Irvington’s 2015-16 Tentative Budget proposes a tax increase of 2.45 percent next year, or a rate of $294.618 per thousand of assessed value.
Village spending on services and government is proposed at $16.64 million next year, up from this year’s expenditure of $15.36 million. Officials announced the tentative increase on Friday.

A public hearing on the tentative budget is scheduled for April 6, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall, 85 Main St. In addition to the operating budget, 2015-16 water rates for village residents also will be discussed.
