The New Jazz Messengers were selected as finalists in the 2014 Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival Competition and will compete in Monterey, CA next month! Unfortunately, the festival does not provide funds to get there -- the group is made of 5 15-17 year-olds (plus one adult chaperone). Two fundraising concerts are slated--one local and one in nyc:
