Try This Snowy Day Craft
Thanks to Patch blogger Sharon Rowley, a.k.a. "Mom of 6" here's an easy-to-do craft that requires no trip to the store (except for a lemon, if you don't have it!)
What kid doesn’t love the idea of a super secret note on which the message is revealed only to them? This is a fun thing to do—and very simple—using supplies that you very likely already have on hand at home.
Just gather supplies and follow the steps as explained in the captions of the photos with this article.
You can explain to your kids the science of what actually happens:

The ink (lemon juice) weakens the fibers in the paper when you apply it. So when the paper is heated, the fibers weakened by the lemon juice discolors (burns) before the rest of the paper. And that’s how you see your message.
This is one cool craft idea that would be great for next year’s science fair!
