Underwear-Stealing Burglary Suspect Apprehended in Irvington
Police said residents who had thought they had misplaced or lost something should call and provide a description of the item.

IRVINGTON, NY — A 22-year-old Irvington resident is a suspect in a string of home burglaries and stands accused of stealing women’s and girl’s underwear and more.
The name of the suspect is not being released in order to not impede the investigation, a police spokesman said.
Police said the suspect has been charged with second-degree burglary for a burglary that occurred October 10.

Entry without force is the person’s way of getting into a home, police said, and some of the burglaries may have gone unnoticed due to the fact that items are stolen that won’t be immediately discovered.
Numerous articles of women’s and girl’s underwear were recovered during a search of the suspect’s residence.

Also found were assorted jewelry, men’s accessories such as pins and tie tacks, bottles of alcohol, smoking pipes, commemorative coins, antique lighters and other items.
The Irvington detective division is continuing to investigate and locate owners of unreported missing items.
Police said the suspect is being held at the Westchester County Jail.
Residents are being asked that if they’ve felt something has been misplaced or lost, but after reading about the burglary suspect they think it may have been stolen, they should call the Irvington Police at 914-591-8080 and provide a description and/or photograph of the item or items.
Lohud.com said that Andrew Marc Baker, 22, was booked Tuesday on a second-degree burglary charge and is due back in Irvington court next week.
