Welcome to Hastings-Dobbs Ferry Patch, an interactive news Web site and business directory dedicated to Hastings, Dobbs Ferry and Irvington.
I'm Lizzie Hedrick, editor of Hastings-Dobbs Ferry Patch. With the exception of college and a year-long stint in circus school, I have been a Rivertowns resident my entire life.
I understand that each of these three villages has its own unique personality, and my professional team of writers and I will strive to cover all the issues you believe are important.

From breaking news to local government, schools, volunteerism, businesses, art exhibits, sports events and even such heated topics as village taxes, deer control, and leaf-blower laws, we'll deliver the most up-to-date information. We'll ask questions and reach out to as many people as possible in order to publish stories that are both complete and unbiased.
Like the Rivertowns themselves, Patch blends the old with the new. We combine traditional journalistic style and integrity with new media's promise to deliver virtually instant coverage. The site will include frequently-updated videos, photo slideshows, announcements, event postings and links to our comprehensive directory of businesses operating in Hastings, Dobbs Ferry and Irvington.

We will attend board meetings, talk to local officials, review new restaurants and theater openings and profile interesting members of the community. From Hastings' passion for the arts, to Dobbs Ferry's athletic prowess and Irvington's emphasis on the environment, Patch promises to stay abreast of current affairs in your neighborhood.
But Patch isn't only about us—we want to hear your voices as well. You can post your own announcements, comment on stories and ask follow-up questions to articles, which we will research and answer.

I can't imagine a job more fulfilling that reporting on everything that happens on my own home turf. Anyone who says the suburbs aren't interesting has never been to a Hastings Board of Trustees meeting, participated in Irvington's annual spelling bee or learned local drinking songs with Dobbs Ferry's Historical Society. As editor of Hastings-Dobbs Ferry Patch, my goal is to capture the inner pulse that beats constantly in each of these three small villages.
