Westchester Receives Three Bids to Renovate La Cantina Property

The county-owned site includes a 4,500-square-foot structure, a 2,300-square-foot slate patio and a small 250-square-foot building.

County officials have received three bids to renovate the former La Cantina restaurant site in Ardsley, reports The Journal News.

Specific details of the bids were not available, but the bids reportedly range from a new restaurant, a miniature golf attraction and a toy train museum.

The county issued a request for proposal document over the summer in hopes to finally get the long vacant, county-owned property renovated. The site, located along the Saw Mill River Parkway, includes a 4,500-square-foot structure, a 2,300-square-foot slate patio, a parking lot and a small 250-square-foot building.

“We’re in the process of evaluating them and seeing what’s really viable and going from there,” Westchester Parks Commission Kathleen O’Connor told The Journal News of the three bids.

The property has sat dormant for 20 years. A time frame for when a decision will be reached was not disclosed.
