White Plains Man Accused Of Trying To Have Sex With A Child

Authorities said he talked with an undercover cop who said he knew of a child who was available to have sexual activity.

GREENBURGH, NY — A White Plains man was charged with trying to lure a child to engage in sexual activity. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr. said Rivu Dey, 25, pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree attempted criminal sexual act, a felony, when he was arraigned Dec. 18 in the Town of Greenburgh Justice Court.

Scarpino said that, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 18, Dey communicated with an undercover police officer who Dey believed knew a child who was available for sexual activity.

Dey arranged to meet the undercover cop and the child at an agreed-upon location where he thought he would be able to have sex with the child.
