State Qualifiers

Dobbs Ferry seniors Brendan Wortner and Sarah King qualified for the New York State Track & Field Championships.

Wortner qualified in the 3K steeplechase with a second-place finish and finals time of 9:49.90 at the state qualifier at White Plains High School on June 1.

King took first place in the 2K steeplechase at the state qualifier with a finals time of 7:38.44 as per nymilessplit.com.

State Championships

The state championships that Wortner and King earned the right to compete in will take place today and tomorrow at Cicero-North Syracuse High School according to the NYSPHSAA.

Boys Lax

Tryouts for the Hudson Valley team that will play in the inaugural Empire State Cup will be held at Somers High School June 11 and June 21 at 4 p.m. according to Mike Dougherty's post  on the LoHud Boys Lacrosse Blog.

Any player from the region currently in grades 8 through 12 is eligible to participate. This is a showcase for All-Stars, and there is a $75 tryout fee.

All interested participants need to register by June 10 at empirestatecup.com.
