Wrong-Way Driver Arrested on DWI Charge on Saw Mill in Hastings

The incident occurred about 2:40 a.m. when the woman was stopped while she was driving southbound in the northbound lanes.

A woman was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated early Wednesday on the Saw Mill River Parkway after Westchester County police stopped her for driving in the wrong direction. No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred about 2:40 a.m. when the woman was stopped while she was driving southbound in the northbound lanes near Farragut Parkway in Hastings-on-Hudson, according to News 12 Westchester.

How long she had been traveling in the wrong direction was not immediately known. In addition to the DWI charge, the woman also was charged with reckless driving, reports The Journal News. Her identity has not yet been released.
