Yonkers Politician's Nephew Dies After Shoplifting Incident
The 21-year-old swallowed an unknown drug and lost consciousness.

GREENBURGH, NY — A shoplifting incident in the Town of Greenburgh ended with the death of a 21-year-old nephew of the Yonkers City Council president-elect. Police said Jonathan Maldonado, 21, was accused Wednesday of stealing from the Greenburgh Best Buy.
He swallowed some unknown drug before police arrived, the Journal News said.
Maldonado lost consciousness, went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

He was the nephew of Mike Khader, who was elected Yonkers council president in November.
