• Hispanic Heritage Month has culture meet care amid AHA latest studies (spectrumlocalnews.com) — Rochester families packed the Memorial Art Gallery's Hispanic Heritage celebration, where music and dance were paired with on-site health resources and heart-disease education. Local advocates used new American Heart Association data to stress checkups, culturally responsive care, and bilingual outreach so Hispanic residents can better prevent cardiovascular problems while celebrating their heritage.
   

• Honor Flight Mission 98 reaches milestone with more than 5,000 veterans flown (whec.com) — Honor Flight Rochester just brought 80 local veterans home to Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport, pushing the program past 5,000 Rochester-area veterans flown to Washington, D.C. A new bus option now helps those unable to fly, and organizers are inviting residents to come out and welcome veterans back again when the next flight returns on October 25.
   

• 37-Year-Old Attorney Allegedly Tried to Bring 8 Cell Phones into a Federal Prison (blacknews.com) — A Rochester attorney is facing a federal charge after authorities say she tried to bring marijuana, tobacco, and eight hidden cellphones into a federal prison in Ohio. Court records show she was intercepted at security, later released on bond, and is also separately charged in Seneca County with grand larceny and possessing stolen property from an incident in Tyre.
