2 Arrested In Connection With Fatal Overdose In Nassau: Police

Police say the death of a 38-year-old woman led them to arrest the two men.

Two Nassau County men were arrested on Tuesday after police say an investigation into a fatal overdose led detectives to them.

According to police, Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives were investigating a fatal overdose of a 38-year-old woman in Rockville Centre that happened on Jan. 7. Police say the investigation led them to arrest David Gugel, 36, of Crown Avenue, Floral Park, and Michael Thomas, 25, of Nassau Street, Elmont.

Thomas is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and nine counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Gugel is charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
