2 Firefighters Hurt Battling Blaze At Nassau Business

OCEANSIDE, NY — A fire on Thursday afternoon at an Oceanside business led to multiple fire departments responding.

Employees at Cousins Metal on Brown Court observed a fire in an exhaust fan in the western part of the warehouse, police said.

Oceanside Fire Department was assisted by 11 other neighboring departments with approximately 150 firefighters extinguishing the blaze. One firefighter sustained an injury when some debris fell and was taken to an area hospital. Another firefighter was hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

The investigation is ongoing, but it is not considered suspicious, police said.
