2 Guns Found During Nassau Traffic Stop; 3 In Custody: Police

ISLAND PARK, NY — Three South Carolina men were arrested early Monday after police said they found a pair of guns in their vehicle in Island Park.

Officers spotted a 2022 black Chevrolet Malibu just after 1 a.m. traveling southbound on Austin Boulevard when they failed to signal a change of lane, police said.

Officers pulled the vehicle over, later finding a loaded, black Taurus G2C 9 mm pistol and an unloaded Glock 30 45 mm, police said.

Police arrested the driver, Isiah Morant, 23, and passengers, Trevonte Miller, 24, and Hampton Dias, 24, without incident.

The three men face charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. They were scheduled to appeared in court Monday, according to authorities. Online court records weren't immediately published for the three.
