2 South Side H.S. Students Take Valedictorian Honors

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — South Side High School's top two students performed so well in the classroom that the district chose to award them both as this year's valedictorians.

Cameron Coletti and Samantha Stein get the rare distinction for the class of 2023.

Coletti and Stein were among 81 business students in the DECA club to compete statewide, the LI Herald reported.

They also are each International Baccalaureate diploma candidates.

"We had two students who achieved so highly that we couldn’t even decipher between the two of them,” Principal Patrick Walsh told the school board.
