In a rematch of the special election from earlier this year, Sen. Todd Kaminsky, a Democrat, once again defeated his challenger, Republican Chris McGrath.
Kaminsky, a former state Assemblyman, was elected to the seat in the spring to finish out the term of former Sen. Dean Skelos, who lost his seat after being found guilty of federal corruption charges.
With all 283 precincts reporting, Kaminsky defeated McGrath 70,821 to 65,122.
