33-Year-Old Facing Stolen Property Charge After Parked SUV Investigation: Police

Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen in Suffolk County.

BALDWIN, NY. — A 33-year-old man is facing criminal possession of stolen property charges after he was caught in the back of a Chevy Traverse at the dead end of Harbor Point Road in Baldwin, police said Wednesday.

Nassau County police said 33-year-old homeless man Reginald Williamson was found in the parked white Traverse at 9 p.m. Tuesday, which police investigated after seeing it parked on the dead end street with the engine running and the radio playing.

Upon investigation, police found that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Suffolk County and found Williamson in the back of the car, police said.

Williamson now faces a third-degree charge of criminal possession of stolen property and a second-degree charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said. His arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday, police said.
