$55,000 Stolen From Vehicle After Withdrawing At Oceanside Bank: Cops

Police are investigating the Thursday morning incident on Long Beach Road.

OCEANSIDE, NY — Thousands of dollars were stolen from a man's vehicle, moments after withdrawing cash from a bank in Oceanside, police said.

Just before noon on Thursday, the 44-year-old victim took out $20,000 from his account at the TD Bank on Long Beach Road, police said.

After going back to his vehicle in the bank's parking lot, one of the tires was deflated. The victim and the passenger got out of the car to replace the tire.

When they got back in the vehicle, they noticed the $20,000 had been removed, along with an additional $35,000, by an unknown person.

Police are investigating.
