Police Identify 78-Year-Old Pronounced Dead After Being Found Outside Baldwin Apartments

BALDWIN, NY. — Police said Tuesday that they had identified the 78-year-old man who had been found outside a Grand Avenue apartment building Monday morning and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Nassau County police said Tuesday afternoon that the man had been identified as 78-year-old Baldwin resident Bruno Castro. Police had said Monday that an investigation into Castro's death was ongoing, and did not release any details beyond Castro's name Tuesday.

Nassau County police said Monday afternoon that officers had responded to the Grand Avenue residence for an aided case, finding Castro outside near the rear of the building. He was hospitalized and pronounced dead by hospital staff, police said Monday.
