This Week In Rockville Centre: Harassing Texts From An Ex, Grand Larceny And More, Police Say

The Rockville Centre Police Department released its weekly crime report for the week ending Apr. 20 Monday.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Police Department released its report for the week ending Apr. 20 Monday, detailing nine incidents between Apr. 13 and Apr. 18. The items listed are as follows:

On Apr. 13 at 8:58 a.m., a Walnut Avenue man said he had lost his handicapped parking permit, police said.

On Apr. 13 at 2:49 p.m., a Norcross Street man said his credit card had been used to incur fraudulent charges, police said.

On Apr. 14 at 1:56 p.m., the vice president of a shipping business on Merrick Road said someone had fraudulently transferred over $100,000 out of the company’s business account after posing as an employee, police said.

On Apr. 15 at 9:48 a.m., a Reeve Road resident said someone had used his personal information to open a fraudulent Verizon account in his name, police said.

On Apr. 15 at 12:33 p.m., a Washington Street man said he had been receiving unwanted calls and texts from his ex-girlfriend, police said.

On Apr. 15 at 4:26 p.m., a Freeport woman said her vehicle had been hit and damaged while parked on Hempstead Avenue, police said.

On Apr. 16 at 2:50 p.m., 38-year-old Bronx woman Dawn Degracia was arrested and charged with third-degree larceny, second-degree forgery and first-degree identity theft, police said. The investigation leading to Degracia’s arrest, police said, was conducted in tandem with Nassau County police.

On Apr. 18 at 8:23 a.m., a Rodney Place woman reported her vehicle being stolen from her driveway after she had left her keys in the car, police said. The car, police said, was found just down the block, but not before it had been rummaged through. The keys, police said, were missing when the car was found.

On Apr. 18 at 7:26 p.m., Long Beach police executed an arrest warrant for a person wanted in connection with a violent crime in Long Beach, with assistance from Rockville Centre police, police said. The arrest warrant was followed by the execution of a search warrant at the person’s home, police said.
