Anthony Gerrato, Rockville Centre Resident, Joins Whitmore Group

Develops innovative insurance management programs while supporting local charities and athletes.

Anthony G. Gerrato of Rockville Centre has joined The Whitmore Group to support the company’s cost-effective solutions for business, education, healthcare and other organizations. The Whitmore Group, Ltd., located in Garden City, is a leading insurance services and estate planning company in the New York metropolitan area. It provides insurance products that meet the needs and concerns of clients and builds relationships that stand the test of time in a number of industries.

Gerrato provides more than 30 years of business and management expertise that will enhance The Whitmore Group’s insurance underwriting and management programs. Raised in West Islip, Gerrato currently resides in Rockville Centre with his wife, Lisa, and three children, Bryan, Olivia and Sofia.

At West Islip High School, Gerrato played lacrosse and football. Twelve years ago, he established the Glenn Gerrato Memorial Scholarship at the school to honor his brother, a star lacrosse player. The award, in the form of a $2,500 annual scholarship that is provided to a student for each of his four years in college, is presented annually to a graduating senior boy’s lacrosse player. Recipient athletes have furthered their educations at such schools as Brown, C.W. Post, Duke, North Carolina, Quinnipiac, Stony Brook and Towson.

After high school, Gerrato earned his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed property and casualty broker in the State of New York. Along with many Whitmore Group employees, he is active in the community, serving in board positions for multiple charitable organizations.

Among the many charities supported by Gerrato are Friends of 9/11, Futures Organization, American Cancer Society, Rockville Centre Community Fund, NY Community Trust Fund and the Make It Count Foundation. He also has conducted more than 150 auctions to raise funds for these organizations and many additional charities in the New York metropolitan area. In addition, Gerrato remains involved with Penn State, serving as a student-athlete mentor through the Varsity S Club.

Gerrato’s professional background includes developing specialty programs at Johnson & Higgins in New York City and overseeing the commercial and corporate programs group at Alliant Insurance Services in New York. His expertise includes equipment maintenance and product warranty programs along with property and casualty products. Gerrato has managed a multi-line nursing home program and has served in a variety of other sectors, including school districts and universities, government institutions, banks and credit unions, research institutes and leading businesses.
