Argument On Nassau Street Leads To Assault, Robbery: Police

Police say two men arguing ended with one assaulting the other and stealing his bicycle.

Nassau County police arrested an Oceanside man Monday afternoon after they say he attacked another man and stole his bicycle.

According to police, Anthony Frangos, 18, of Evans Avenue, got into an argument with another man near Merle Avenue and Oceanside Road around 1:45 p.m. Monday. Police say Frangos punched the other man several times and then stole his bicycle, using it to flee south on Long Beach Road.

Police responded and investigated, and later located Frangos and placed him under arrest without incident. The other man was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Frangos is charged with third-degree robbery and third-degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 6 at First District Court in Hempstead.
