"American democracy and the rule of law have always been worth fighting for - and worth the wait. Community members, labor leaders, local officials, and neighbors have graciously reached out to me over the past week as the margin between myself and my opponent has continued to shrink with each report," Griffin said.

A spokesperson for the BOE did not how many more votes are outstanding, but Griffin said a state mandatory hand recount would be triggered when the margin between candidates is below one-half of one-percent, "A range this race will inevitably remain within until the end," Griffin said.
