Assemblyman Curran Collects 1,427 lbs. of Food for L.I. Cares

Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) recently sponsored a food drive as part of The Summer Food Drive to End Hunger series hosted by Long Island Cares. Curran’s event, which was held at the Rockville Centre King Kullen, collected 1,427 pounds of food.

“I am grateful to the members of our community for their extremely generous donations to help fight hunger on Long Island,” said Curran. “However, events like this are bittersweet. While a community response like we saw this past weekend shows the best of our community – its giving spirit – it is proof that hunger still exists on Long Island and in many parts of New York state. I would like to thank Long Island Cares for its continued efforts to fight hunger in local communities and again, thank you to all residents for their generous contributions.”
