AvalonBayll approved by Avalonbay without BZA approval
AvalonBay to hold Open House on November 22,2014 for people to see their new buildings

It does not shock me. This deal was done when Mayor Murray manipulated the application process when he by passed the Planning Board. He gave the approval to his friend at the BZA to insure AvalonBay ll approval. In the Herald yesterday Avalon invited the village to see their property expansion. People need to know that the SEQR review of possible contamination at AvalonBay ll closes on December 5, 2014. The next sham BZA hearing for the AvalonBay ll application will be held on January 7, 2015.
Tomorrow AvalonBay ll is holding an open house on their new, yet to be approved AvalonBay ll buildings. The message, the deal is done. The residents of RVC have nothing to say. The Mayor, the BZA, The Nassau County Planning Commissioner and AvalonBay ll have decided. On November 19th the Chairman of the Nassau Planning Commission spoke out with an official statement saying the ”Nassau County Planning Commission supports the AvalonBay ll application. He said the Nassau County Planning Commission supports building application across Nassau County with Density buildings up to 86 units per acre. This application is a density of 88.5 units per acre. The highest request ever in Nassau county.
Our Village Board in October of 2007 in order to protect our Village from over development set a Density limit of 18 units per acre. They had the best interest of the Residents of RVC in Mind and not the residents of the rest of the world.

The reality is Rockville Centre has the highest ratio of single family homes to Multifamily homes on Long Island. In our Village we have 9900 units of housing supporting a population of 24,500 residents. The split is 6,000 single family units to 3900 units of Multifamily. We are bursting at the seams. The Village infrastructure is breaking down everywhere from Maple Avenue to Rockville lane. We have between 300 to 400 Village employees with more to come.
I support right sizing Multifamily development in the Village. I support a 36 unit AvalonBay ll development in our Village. Make them all studio apartments. Don’t be fooled by the Mayor and the Chairman of the Nassau County Planning Commission. We the residents say what happens not the monied few.
