Nassau Woman Drives Under Influence Of Drugs With 5 Children: Police
Johanna Gonzalez faces charges that include endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
BALDWIN, NY — A Baldwin woman was taken into custody Sunday evening for driving under the influence of drugs with several children in the vehicle, police said.
After a 911 call, Johanna Gonzalez, 39, was stopped by police on Sunrise Highway, police said.
An 8-year-old girl, two 12-year-old boy and two 13-year-old girls were in the vehicle, authorities said. They were released to relatives.

Gomzalez was charged with five counts of Leandra's Law: Driving while intoxicated (child under 16), three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
She was expected to be arraigned on Monday.
