Car Stolen From In Front Of 7-Eleven: Rockville Centre Police

The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending July 22.
Larceny from Auto
- On July 18 at 1:02 a.m., a Hempstead resident reported that while he was parked in the Mercy Hospital parking lot, someone broke the front passenger-side window of his 2019 Nissan and stole $8,000 worth of jewelry and items from the car
- On July 20 at 6:28 p.m., a resident of Lenox Road reported her car was parked in the parking lot behind 31 Lenox Road and $750 worth of items were stolen from her car.

- On July 18 at 10:06 p.m., a resident from S. Lewis Place reported that he left his 2016 Honda Civic running in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on Merrick Rd, and that while he was in the store, a man got into the car and drove away. Also in the car was the resident’s cell phone and $1,000 in cash.
Arrests
- On July 15 at 3:46 p.m., Maurice E Douse, 57, of N Park Avenue, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, other vehicle and traffic law violations and an open Nassau County bench warrant for petty larceny after police say he was seen driving with a suspended registration on Sunrise Highway.
- On July 16 at 12:52 p.m., Richard N Weidenburner, 29, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on an arrest warrant from New York City when he came into Rockville Centre Police Headquarters to pick up an impounded vehicle.
- On July 18 at 9:18 a.m., Thomas F Slattor, 57, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged as a parole absconder on an arrest warrant from the State Department of Corrections when he walked into Rockville Centre Police Headquarters to turn himself in.
- On July 19 at 3 p.m., Kristos Crooks, 36, of Inwood, was arrested and charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle after police say he was stopped on Sunrise Highway following a plate reader hit for a stolen car.
- On July 21 at 12:59 p.m., Gentress Haskins, 52, of West Hempstead, was arrested and charged with second- and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating an unregistered motor vehicle on highway, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and several other vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation during a vehicle stop on Merrick road.
