Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) recently partnered with Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing, Franklin General Hospital, and keynote speaker Marie Cantone to present a “Medicare Made Easy” seminar for seniors at Valley Stream Library. Curran highlighted that the seminar was designed to remove the confusion of the various options so that each senior can make the right choice for themselves. He emphasized that with Marie Cantone’s help, they were able to review the basics of Medicare, supplementary insurance, advantage plans, prescription drug plans, “donut” hole, eligibility requirements and enrollment windows. About 60 seniors were in attendance.
“It’s time to cut through the unnecessary confusion and help our seniors make informed decisions about their healthcare,” said Curran. “It is absolutely critical that our seniors fully understand the Medicare process and all the options available to them so that they can make the best possible choice for their future care. This seminar used a common-sense approach to present important health information in a comprehensive format that seniors can use to their advantage.
“Thank you to Marie Cantone, Mamie Eng, Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing, and Franklin General for all their help in putting this seminar together. This important initiative helped empower seniors and provided them with vital information to improve their lives.”
