CURRAN & NASSAU CO. EXEC. MANGANO TO HOLD OVERDOSE PREVENTION FORUM FEATURING NARCAN
Media Advisory
Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) and Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano today announced that they will be hosting an overdose prevention forum featuring NARCAN training, on Monday, November 9 at South Side High School. Curran, who has hosted similar forums with Mangano and Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino in West Hempstead and Lynbrook earlier this year, said the forum is open to parents, guardians, and the general public,
“This forum is a learning experience for parents, guardians, neighbors or friends of those struggling with substance abuse to know how to recognize and what to do in case of an overdose, and how to administer the life-saving, overdose-reversal agent called NARCAN,” said Curran. “Drug abuse has been increasingly on the rise on Long Island, specifically in our youth and children. By educating and equipping parents, guardians, mentors, neighbors and friends with necessary prevention and life-saving skills, we can make our communities a safer place to live.”
Nassau County Executive Mangano said, “I will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of all Nassau County families to bring them the knowledge and awareness to this dangerous and deadly drug. I am glad to co-sponsor this event with Assemblyman Curran.”
