Dangerous Drivers Taken Off The Road: Rockville Centre Police

The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending May 6.

Criminal Mischief

On May 3 at 11:47 a.m., a Freeport resident reported his car was damaged while parked on Earle Avenue. All four tires were punctured and both side view mirrors were damaged. The value of damage is estimated at $900.

Larceny

On May 1 at 12:21 a.m., a South Forest Avenue resident reported the theft and recovery of his bicycle. The resident said he saw a man in possession of his bike on Merrick Road. He took his bike back from the subject and requested arrest be made if possible.

Leaving the Scene

On May 1 at 12:19 a.m., a driver reported his vehicle was struck by a car that left the scene while he was driving on Lincoln Avenue. No injuries reported.

Arrests

On May 1 at 11:04 a.m., James Whittaker, 50, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with second- and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and driving without a license during a vehicle stop on North Centre Avenue.

On May 1 at 11:04 a.m., William Green, 59, of Old Mill Court, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance during a vehicle stop on North Centre Avenue.

On May 4 at 1:12 a.m., Louis Masturzo, 37, of Baldwin, was arrested and charged with DWI and driving without headlights during a vehicle stop on South Forest Avenue.
