Dealer Linked To 2 Heroin Overdoses Arrested: Nassau Police

Police say they found the same heroin on him at the time of his arrest that they found on the overdose victims.

Nassau County police arrested a Lakeview man Friday night whom they say sold the heroin that led to two overdoses in the community.

According to police, Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives were investigating a fatal and non-fatal overdoses that occurred in Lakeview. The investigation led officers to the parking lot of a small strip mall on Woodfield Road in Lakeview, where Lawrence Yearling, 28, of Orlando Avenue, was arrested.

Police say that Yearling is directly link to the overdoses, and was in possession of 27 envelopes stamped "Get Rich or Die Tryin," which police believe contain heroin, as well as 10.5 grams of crack cocaine. Police say heroin envelopes with the same stamp were found with the victims of both overdoses.

Yearling is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned on March 9 in First District Court in Hempstead.
