Elderly Man Dies After Being Hit By Car In Nassau
The 85-year-old man was rushed to the hospital, but there was nothing doctors could do.
An elderly man was killed after he was hit by a car while crossing a street in Oceanside Thursday night.
According to police, an 85-year-old man was crossing Oceanside Road at Davidson Avenue at 9 p.m. when he was hit by a 2011 Jeep Liberty. He suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by a doctor.
The driver of the Jeep, a 62-year-old woman, remained at the scene. She was not hurt. The Jeep was impounded for a brake and safety check.

The name of the man is being withheld at this time. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
