Clavin Way Ahead In His Supervisor Re-Election Bid
Incumbent Kate Murray is ahead in her Town Clerk race.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin is outdistancing his challenger in unofficial election results. The Republican led Olena Nicks, 65 percent to 35 percent.
Former Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray was also expected to have a victory, after the incumbent led in the Town Clerk race, 63 percent to 37 percent.
All 19 County Legislatures seats were on the ballot Tuesday, including the 5th District where Democrat Seth Koslow, a former Queens assistant DA, was in front of Joseph Baker, 53 percent to 47 percent against, Joseph Baker, a former president of the South Merrick Community Civic Association.

In the 7th District, Howard Kopel is expected to win his seventh term in the legislature. He ended the night with 84 percent of the vote, according to the Board of Elections.
