Emergency Sinkhole Repairs Nearly Completed In Baldwin
Legislator Mulé said resurfacing should be finished next week.
BALDWIN, NY — Sinkhole repairs should be completed by the end of the month in Baldwin.
The compromised sewer main was repaired and a structural pipe liner was installed and completed last week, County Legislator Debra Mulé (D- Freeport) said.
Residents will get driveway access restored on Lorenz Avenue by Wednesday, while Grand Avenue is expected to be fully operational to traffic by Saturday.

The final phase of the emergency repairs is curb-to-curb resurfacing along Lorenz Avenue. That is expected the week of July 24, Mulé said.
"This incident was truly a wake-up call for all of us, and I am committed to focusing on rebuilding and reinforcing Nassau County’s critical infrastructure. As we look ahead to the 2024 capital plan, I will make resources for road, sewer, and water infrastructure my top priority," Mulé said.
