Issues were first discovered with the sewer line on June 27.
BALDWIN, NY — A damaged sewer line in Baldwin is leaking sewage, Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé announced.
Sewage is spewing into the nearby Brookside Preserve Creek and the backyards of several homeowners. The pipe in question is a 42-inch water main.
Mulé (D-Freeport) said she has been in touch with County Executive Bruce Blakeman and the Department of Public Works since issues with the sewer line were first discovered on June 27.

The county is expected to send letters about the project and supplies of bottled water to affected residents.
Members of the County Office of Emergency Management, the police and fire departments were speaking to residents.
"This incident further demonstrates the need to invest in and repair our aging infrastructure," Mulé said. "I will be reaching out to our federal representatives to request an expedited disbursement of the monies promised to us under the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.”
