In partnership with the Rockville Centre Lions Club, Mercy Medical Center invites the community to a free lecture on Diabetes Awareness and Risk Factors .
The presentation is being held in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association’s annual Diabetes Alert Day and “Join the Million Challenge” calling for one million people to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
The program at Mercy will be presented by Maria Jacobi, a Physician Assistant and Certified Diabetes Educator who has been caring for diabetes patients for over a decade.

Diabetes awareness has been adopted as a long-term commitment of the Lions International and the local RVC Lions chapter works in this area to support diabetes education, treatment, early detection, prevention and research.

Program will be conducted in the employee dining room on the lower level of the medical center’s North Pavilion. Light refreshments will be provided and ample convenient free parking will be available.
