The hour-long session for both diabetics and their families will be facilitated by Marie Ruggles, a Certified Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator, who will lead a discussion about “Secrets of the Slim”.
It will be held in the first floor conference room in the St. Anne’s Center on the hospital campus.
The session is part of Mercy’s Diabetes Self-Management Education Program that emphasizes knowledge, treatment and self-management of the disease, so that patients can identify and prevent possible complications.

Mercy's program is accredited by both the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). Its curriculum is a recognized educational program of both of these associations and meets the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Program
