LAWRENCE, NY — A drunken driver caused a crash that led to a death during the overnight hours Monday in Lawrence, police said.

Dei Aisha Wynter is charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

According to Nassau police, Wynter, 22, of Central Islip, was driving a 2022 silver Tesla southbound on Rockaway Turnpike when she struck a man walking at 3:30 a.m.

She remained at the scene and was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The victim's age and name were not released.

Wynter was expected to be arraigned on Monday in First District Court.
