First Long Island Children To Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

The CDC this week approved shots for children ages 5-11.

LONG BEACH, NY — With the CDC approving recommendations to vaccinate children between ages 5 and 11 against COVID-19, the Town of Hempstead's "Vaxmobile," run by Mount Sinai South Nassau, is not waiting.

The Wednesday event in Long Beach will be the first to offer doses to youngsters from the town and the hospital.

The Vaxmobile was scheduled for Long Beach City Hall until 4 p.m.

Residents can also get the flu shot at the same, although the shots are typically given in separate arms.

People can walk up or for future reference, you can call Mount Sinai South Nassau to schedule an appointment at 516 377-5333 or apply online.
