Flach Sentenced To 25 Years To Life For Killing Oceanside Teen
Tyler Flach was convicted in November for fatally stabbing Khaseen Morris in 2019.
OCEANSIDE, NY — Tyler Flach was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years to life in prison in the 2019 stabbing death of Khaseen Morris during a fight at an Oceanside strip mall.
A Nassau County Judge rejected a motion from the defense to drop the second-degree murder conviction in favor of a manslaughter charge, Newsday reported.
Flach, 22, of Lido Beach, was convicted Nov. 1 for the killing of the 16-year-old Morris.

Prosecutors argued that as two groups fought, Flach stabbed Morris in the heart.
"This was an incredibly senseless murder and I thank our prosecutors," said Anne Donnelly, the Nassau County district attorney.

Several of Flach's co-defendants pleaded guilty to various charges, and one more awaits trial, ABC7 reported.
While Flach didn't take the stand, he was overheard telling Morris' family members Tuesday: "I hate that day. I hate myself for accidentally causing the death of your son," according to Newsday.
Moments after the sentencing by Judge Howard Sturim, Flach blurted: "We were kids, we were kids."
