Former Oceanside McDonald's Workers Reunite 50 Years Later
The Saturday night reunion takes place at MacArthur Park in Rockville Centre.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — You've likely heard of, and maybe even took part in, a school reunion. But this reunion is rather unique.
A gathering is set for Saturday night to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Oceanside McDonald's workers.
Organizer Tom Knag said this "golden" reunion is expected to assemble at least 40 former crew members from back in the day.

"If I remember correctly, there was a waiting list to get hired but having an older brother who worked there, I was lucky to get hired right away," Knag said.
Many teenagers can look to McDonald's or somewhere similar for their first jobs, so flipping burgers or mopping the floors were part of the duties.

However, "you didn't realize that you were being taught a work ethic that would stick with you the rest of your life," Knag said.
The four-hour reunion at Rockville Centre's MacArthur Park will feature plenty of 1970s (obviously) tunes. No word on if the menu includes Big Macs.
