Former RVC Superintendent Honored For Years Of Service

Dr. William Johnson served for 34 years as the head of the Rockville Centre School District

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Former Rockville Centre schools superintendent Dr. William Johnson was honored by the RVC Education Foundation.

Johnson, who oversaw the school district from 1986 to 2020, was the honoree at the gala event on Sunday, April 3.

The foundation said Johnson was selected because of "decades of service" to the Rockville Centre schools.

Johnson left Rockville Centre for a role with Hempstead schools in 2020.

"[He] has made an immeasurable impact on the lives of Rockville Centre students and residents. During his thirty-four years as Superintendent, Dr. Johnson’s mission has been to remove gates and raise the bar for all students, enabling them to achieve at their highest potential," the foundation's website said.
