Gas Prices Drop Slightly On Long Island In Time For Holiday Travel

LONG ISLAND, NY — Ahead of the 4th of July weekend as millions will hit the road will full tanks, a check of the latest data shows some good news for drivers.

Gas prices have dropped slightly in recent days, according to AAA.

The average price at the pump across New York is $4.93 per gallon, down from $4.98 a week ago, according to AAA.

It's even more promising on Long Island, where the average price is $4.87, down from $4.96 seven days earlier.

As drivers plan for the long weekend, there are lower prices to be found across the island, GasBuddy.com reports.

In Nassau:

• It's $4.37 per gallon at the Conoco on 537 South Broadway in Hicksville.
• Another Conoco, on 2 Hempstead Ave. in Hempstead has gas for $4.47.
• It's $4.49 at several stations including, Shell on 101 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, BP at 144 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, Costco on 3705 Hampton Rd. in Oceanside and the Citgo on 400 South Broadway in Hicksville.
• It's cost you $4.55 at BJ's Wholesale Club on 100 Mill Rd.

Checking Suffolk:

Several stations have gas at $4.49 per gallon:

• Shell, 737 Montauk Highway in Shirley
• Montauk Native Gasoline, 182 C. Poospatuck Lane in Mastic
• USA, 254 NY-109 in West Babylon
• Fast Gas, 194 C. Poospatuck Lane in Mastic
• Delta, 305 Union Blvd. in West Islip

It's $4.53 at Ultra Fuel, 571 West Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst

There are three gas stations listed at $4.55, according to GasBuddy.com:
