Gas Prices Keep Falling On LI; Cheapest Stations Below $4 Per Gallon

LONG ISLAND, NY — If you've filled up your tank recently, or just drove past a gas station, you probably noticed that the price per gallon is still dropping.

Overall, the state average is $4.54, quite an improvement from $4.94 a month ago.

But, Long Island is seeing a better turnaround in the past 30 days. Now, drivers will pay, on average, $4.32 per gallon, as opposed to $4.89 a month ago, AAA said.

As the average price keeps coming down, the cheapest options are also lower for motorists.

Starting in Nassau County:

You'll find several stations with gas below the $4.00 threshold, according to Gasbuddy.com.

• It's $3.94 at U.S. Gas in Farmingdale
• A handful of locations have gas at $3.99, including Costco in Oceanside, Speedway on Hempstead Turnpike in Plainedge, Mobil in North Bellmore and Exxon on Hempstead Turnpike in Farmingdale.

In Suffolk County prices at the pump are falling further.

• It's $3.89 at a pair of Sunoco stations, Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst and Sunrise Highway in West Islip.
• It'll cost you $3.91 per gallon for regular at Metro Fuel in Lindenhurst.
• For $3.93, drivers can fill up at USA in West Islip, Mobil in North Lindenhurst, Phillips 66 in Lindenhurst and Mobil in Copiague.
