Human Remains Found In Woods Near Rockville Centre: Police
Nassau County police discovered the remains near an abandoned campsite after receiving a 911 call on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Police are investigating after human remains were discovered near an abandoned campsite in Rockville Centre on Friday afternoon.
According to Nassau County police, authorities received a 911 around 1:45 p.m. about possible human remains found in a wooded area southwest of Peninsula Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue.
When police arrived, they discovered an abandoned campsite and human skeletal remains beneath a collapsed tent.

The county homicide squad and medical examiner responded to the scene and removed the remains, police said. The remains were taken to the medical examiner's office for further examination.
The case remains under investigation, police said.
