ICYMI: LI Nurse, First With COVID-19 Vaccine, Gets White House Honoree

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Sandra Lindsay, a critical care nurse for Northwell Health was on the frontline during the worst of COVID-19. In Dec. 2020 she became the first person in the country to receive the vaccine.

She was recognized on Thursday with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

"This is not something I dreamed of aspiring to achieve," Lindsay told Patch.
